Theater Baden-Baden

The Theater Baden-Baden at the Goethe Square is the city theater in the city of Baden -Baden.

At the instigation of the former casino tenant Edouard Bénazet the theater of Charles Couteau was modeled after the Paris Opera.

Especially for the opening in August 1862 Hector Berlioz composed the opera Béatrice et Bénédict based on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. 1869 conducted Jacques Offenbach here the premiere of his operetta La Princesse de Trebizonde.

The theater has since 1918 through a fixed ensemble of actors. The Schedule repertoire includes a focus on the works of William Shakespeare, Heinrich von Kleist, modern classics and French-speaking guest performances. As part of guest performances and co-productions operas and other works of the musical theater are listed.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the theater was completely renovated and equipped with modern technology.

The premises of the theater, especially the foyer can be rented for weddings and other events.
