History

The theater in the town hall on the ground floor of 1979 inaugurated Essen City Hall. The studio theater with 265 seats was first used as Dépendence of the play food ( Grillo -Theater ). Opened in 1991, Inge Meysel with the piece Expensive happiness of Jean Bouchard Theater today at City Hall. Since it is under the management of the theater production Thalia GmbH.
