Theatre studies

Theatre Studies is the scientific study of theatrical phenomena from ancient times to the present. Both authors and works and events ( theater ) are treated. The drama overlaps among other literary and media studies.

History

The Theatre Studies as an independent academic discipline is relatively young. It was not until the early 20th century it has emerged from the German. Your first academic representatives were Max Herrmann, who in Berlin since 1900, and Artur Kutscher, held in Munich theater studies courses since 1909.
