Thedinghausen

The community Thedinghausen ( Low German Thänhusen or Theenhusen ) is located in the district of Verden in Lower Saxony and is the administrative center named after her Samtgemeinde Thedinghausen. History

The first settlements on the territory of the municipality are documented between 1138 (Werder ) and 1534 ( Donnerstedt ) was first mentioned. In Thedinghausen a castle was built in the late 13th century (at the site of the later district court, today the youth center ). Town and castle changed several times the territorial affiliation, to Thedinghausen finally came to the county of Hoya for a long time. After the death of the last Count of Hoya Hoya the county came to the House Guelph and was divided among the various lines of Guelph (Braunschweig -Lüneburg - Celle, Braunschweig -Lüneburg -Wolfenbüttel, Calenberg ). Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Dibbersen - Donnerstedt, Eissel, Holtorf - Lunsen, Horstedt and Werder were incorporated.

On 1 November 2006, the Association took place at the enlarged community Thedinghausen with the community Morsum.

Religion and faith communities

In the community Thedinghausen there are two Protestant churches connected with cemeteries: one in the center and one in the district Lunsen, in the district Wulmstorf there is also a cemetery with a chapel. In the district Morsum, there is also a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah 's Witnesses. Economy and infrastructure

The economy is still characterized Thedinghausens very rural, yet there is a distinct middle class.
