Thekla Reuten
Thekla Reuten ( born September 16, 1975 in Bussum, Netherlands) is a Dutch actress.
Life
Thekla Reuten studied acting at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. During her training, she took roles in Dutch film and theater productions and played immediately after graduation in European films. She was among other things, Belgian, German, Italian and Dutch works such as De Trip van Teetje, crumb ( Kruimeltje ), Rose Street, where she played among other things on the side of Katja Riemann and Jürgen Vogel, Una Bellezza Che Non Lascia scampi and the Each film is a star! to see who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Foreign Language Film.
In 2004 she was named one of the young talents in Europe and was awarded the Shooting Star Award from the European Film Promotion for her portrayal of Lotte in the movie The twins, who also was nominated as best foreign language film for an Oscar. This was followed by roles in movies like In Bruges and die with Colin Farrell, Hotel Lux next Bully Herbig and The American on the side of George Clooney. In 2009, she played the lead role in the film ceasefire by Lancelot von Naso. The film won awards at the festivals in Montreal and Zurich and at the Hof Film Festival.
Thekla Reuten speaks five languages ( German, English, French, Dutch and Italian). Besides her cinema career, she has also appeared in television series such as Hidden (BBC, UK), Restless (BBC, UK) and Sleeper Cell ( Showtime, USA). The actress works for film and television and also played again and again in the theater. So she was to see theater in London alongside Gael García Bernal, among others, in the productions Fall of the Gods by Johan Simons at the Salzburg Festival and the Ruhr Triennale, and in Rufus Norris ' Blood Wedding at the Almeida.
