Thelma Hopkins (athlete)

Thelma Hopkins ( born March 16, 1936 in Kingston upon Hull) is a British track and field athlete.

In the high jump she held until 1956, the women's world record in the high jump with 1.74 meters. In 1954 she became European Champion. In 1956, she won at the Olympic Games in Melbourne, the silver medal after they had four years earlier, ranking 4.

In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954 she went to Northern Ireland. She won the high jump with 1.68 meters and was in the long jump with 5.84 meters second behind Yvette Williams.
