Theodor Thomsen

Theodor Thomsen ( born March 29, 1904 in Kiel, † 14 May 1982) was a German Olympian in sailing.

Thomsen started for the Kiel Yacht Club. In 1936 he was in the 6 meter class to the crew of Hans Lubinus, which won the German championship. In the Olympic Regatta in 1936 in the Kiel area, the boat finished sixth, after having been disqualified at two race days. 1942 Thomsen won another German championship title in the 6 meter class.

After the Second World War Thomsen competed in the Dragon class. Along with Erich Natusch and Georg Nowka he finished third at the Olympic Regatta in 1952 before Helsinki. Thomsen, Natusch and Nowka also started at the Olympic Regatta 1956 in the Dragon class, this time they reached the tenth place.

Theodor Thomsen was the director of the Gerling Group in Kiel.
