Theodor Wilhelm Danzel

Theodor Wilhelm Danzel ( born February 4, 1818 in Hamburg, † May 9, 1850 in Leipzig ) was a German aestheticians and literary historian.

Danzel completed his schooling at the Johanneum and at the Academic Gymnasium in his native town. From 1837 he studied at the universities of Leipzig, Halle and Berlin. These studies he was able to conclude 1845 in Leipzig with a habilitation and worked subsequently as a lecturer there. At the age of 32 years Danzel died on 9 May 1850 in Leipzig and found his last resting place there.

Danzel initially was a consistent partisan Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, but could emancipate in 1844 with his work "On the aesthetics of Hegel's philosophy " of this. His work " G. E. Lessing, his life and works " was in contrast to the theses Georg Gottfried Gervinus ' and has been controversial.
