Theodore Holland

Theodore Holland ( born April 25, 1878 in Wimbledon ( London), † October 29, 1947 in London) was an English composer and music educator.

Holland attended Westminster School and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Frederick Corder and at the Musikhochschule Berlin with Joseph Joachim. He worked then as a composer for various theater before he became in 1927 professor of harmony and composition at the Royal Academy.

In addition to operas and incidental music composed Holland a Sinfonietta, a symphonic poem, a violin concerto, chamber music and songs.
