Theodore M. Davis

Theodore Monroe Davis ( * 1837 in New York; † 1915 in Florida) was an American lawyer. He owned an excavation license for the Valley of the Kings and employed various archaeologists.

Archaeology in Egypt

Davis was an American lawyer and millionaire. After he had retired from his business, he visited Egypt for the first time in 1899. He traveled on his Dahabiya " Bedawin " and his constant traveling companion was Emma Andrews, who wrote diaries, so that from this time many important secondary importance and is obtained from the company.
