Théodule Ribot

Augustin Ribot Théodule ( born August 8, 1823 in Saint- Nicolas- d'Attez, Eure, † September 11, 1891 in Colombes, Hauts -de- Seine) was a French painter.

Life

Ribot had two children, his son Germain Theodule Clement and his daughter Fontenai -aux -Roses Ribot, who were also his students. Ribot was history and genre painter, particularly the figures from the darkness very bright highlights, such as Jusepe de Ribera (1588-1656), and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio ( 1573-1610 ).
