Theophilos Corydalleus

Theophilos Corydalleus (Greek Theofilos Korydalefs Θεόφιλος Κορυδαλεύς, originally Nicephorus Corydalleus; * 1563 Korydallos in Athens, † 1646) was a newly - Aristotelian philosopher. His hometown, to back his name, was renamed in his honor in 1923 by pachy again in Korydallos.

Corydalleus taught in Athens and Konstantin Opel in Greek, Italian and Latin. He translated and published numerous writings from Latin, such as an annotated by Cesare Cremonini edition of Aristotle ( printed in Leyden ). 1625 appeared his rhetoric with his students and publishers Nicodemus Metaxas in London, which was reissued in 1786 in Venice. A friendship united him with Kyrillos Loukaris, a student of his was Germanus, Archbishop of Nyssa.
