Thepharak District

Amphoe Thepharak ( Thai: อำเภอ เทพารักษ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern province of Nakhon Ratchasima. The Nakhon Ratchasima province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Thepharak borders the following districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Thep Sathit and the Bamnet Narong the province of Chaiyaphum, Amphoe Dan Khun Thot on in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Amphoe Lam Sonthi and to the province of Lopburi.

History

Originally Tambon Samnak Takhrau part of Tambon Pan Chana in Amphoe Dan Khun Thot. On April 1, 1995, the small district ( King Amphoe ) Samnak Takhrau from the Tambon Samnak Takhrau, Nong Waeng and Bueng Prue was founded. Following a proposal of Luang Pho Khun, a monk of Wat Ban Rai, the government changed the name to Theparak.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Thepharak is divided into four subdistricts ( tambon), which in turn have together 58 municipalities ( Muban ).

There are also four administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
