Therasia

Thirasia (Greek Θηρασία or Θηρασιά ( f sg ) ) is a Greek island in the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. Geography and Geology

History

The name is probably pre-Greek origin Therasia and could be derived from a place name as Qụhērāsos / ā. On billboards in Knossos, the name was Qe -ra -si -ja discovered, which presumably refers to a revered goddess in Santorini, named according to their origin ( qe -ra -si -ja = the Qụhērāsos of / - ā ). In the south of Thirasia a buried by the volcanic eruption, prehistoric settlement with close relationship was found to Akrotiri on Thira. Later, the island was colonized by the Dorians.
