Thermal cycler

Under thermal cycler and thermal cycling, also known as PCR - block refers to a device that is able to carry out temperature cycles of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) self.

Design and operation

A typical PCR cycle consists of a denaturation step, followed by primer annealing (English primer annealing ) and a synthesis step (about 20-45 such cycles are carried out in a PCR run ). The reaction solutions ( PCR approaches with volumes between 5 and 100 ul) are often used in small PCR tube ( " PCR tubes " ) performed. The " Cycler " enables fully automated execution of various temperature-dependent reactions (PCR, restriction reactions Ligationensschritte, and much more). The integration of the device into so-called " HTS " ( engl. high throughput system ) for analyzing large numbers of samples in " Robotorstraßen " ( eg in the context of drug analysis) is already widely used today.
