Thierschneck

Thierschneck is a municipality in the northeast of the Saale- wood - country circuit and a member of the administrative community Dornburg - Camburg.

Location

Thierschneck and the district are located east of Camburg at a higher level after the Saaleanhöhen. The areas of this region lie on überlösstem limestone and are profitable.

History

The documentary first mention of Thierschneck is dated on the December 20, 1372.

In the corridor of Thierschneck are grave mound of Neolithic and Bronze Age. In the forest " direction of adjustment " is a burial mound. There are also Bronze Age finds have been recovered. North of the site is another burial mound, but this was leveled by the intensive agricultural use.

In Thierschneck met until 1830 the main thoroughfares in central Germany - Regensburg road towards Naumburg and Leipzig and a branch of the Nuremberg road. Here, the dealer had to pay for their goods and customs escort. The escort house still stands as a witness in place.

In Thierschneck is a multi- rebuilt church.
