Thinner (netlabel)

Thinner is a netlabel that focuses primarily on dub- techno and more gentle with a few exceptions varieties of electronic music. It is one of the most famous netlabels in the field of electronic music.

History

The Thinner netlabel was founded in 1998 by the Swede Thomas Jaldemark and is today operated by Sebastian Redenz, Ole Schulte and an international team. Based in Frankfurt am Main Thinner is one of the most enduring and successful netlabels in recent years. The Thinner catalog includes releases from artists such as Digital Club, Marko Fürstenberg, Benfay, Pheek, Veer, Krill.Minima, Mikkel Metal, Christian Bloch, Vladislav Delay, Danny Creutzfeldt, digitalis and Eloi Brunelle. By September 2006, the netlabel had over two million mp3 downloads. Since December 2008, new publications are available as paid downloads. Additionally, however, free offers were still scheduled. However, these were not previously realized, since 2009, no new publications have been added (as of May 2012).

Sublabel and partnerships

Auto Plate was a sublabel Thinners and focused on experimental electronica and ambient. The autoPlate label was discontinued in 2008. Thinner and Epsilonlab, which focuses mainly on House, is led by Eloi Brunelle and mainly is active in Montreal, have a label partnership for several years. The two labels support each other, exchange ideas and organize joint parties. Thus, in 2006 published a joint DVD with the name Epsilonlab vs. Thinner: Silence is Presence and published on Thinner release that is limited to the audio.
