Third Force Party

The Third Force Party (TFP ) was a political party in Ghana.

History

It was founded in the Third Republic of Ghana in 1979 by Dr. John Bilson as a third force between the then existing two political camps led by former Prime Minister of Ghana ( 1969-1972 ) Kofi Busia Abrefa and the supporters of the first president, Kwame Nkrumah, and socialists.

In the presidential elections on 18 June 1979, the Chairman of the TFP Bilson became the presidential candidate of 2.8 percent of the vote (about 49,104 votes ) and thus was subject to later President Hilla Aeschlimann.
