Thirsk

Thirsk is a country town in the Vale of Mowbray, located in the District of Hambleton in North Yorkshire. According to the census, the city had a total of 4,702 inhabitants in 2001.

The well-known English veterinarian and author James Herriot had his practice in Thirsk, 23 Kirkgate. The house was converted into a museum after his death.

Thirsk has a medieval market square and has a tourist. In addition to Herriot interested equestrian enthusiasts come to Thirsk Racecourse. The most important are but the North York Moors, lies on the edge of Thirsk.
