This Will Destroy You

This Will Destroy You ( TWDY ) is a post-rock band from San Marcos, Texas. Their style is characterized by the beginning mostly peaceful, harmonious and diverse instrumental arrangements. In the course of the instrument in the compositions can be increased slowly and take much of the complexity, dissonance and hardness. Similar artists Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! History

The band was founded in 2005 with Young Mountain in 2006 released their first EP. Originally planned as a demo recording for sale on live shows, they attracted the attention of the record label Magic Bullet Records, which they, accompanied by positive reviews, eventually published.

The self-titled debut album, This Will Destroy You was released on 29 January 2008. A year later, the split EP Field Studies on the in addition to the two own titles " Brutalism and the Worship of the Machine" and "Freedom Blade" also songs was published, the band Lymbyc Systym are. 2010 appeared a second EP titled Moving On The Edges of Things. The recordings of the previously announced album Tunnel Blanket were completed, according to the band on February 12, 2010.

The track "There are Some Remedies Worse than the Disease " is heard in the trailer for the movie The Taking of Pelham 123.

" Burial on the Presidio Banks " from the self-titled album accompanies the final scene of CSI: Miami episode # 160 " Excess Baggage ".

"The Mighty Rio Grande " is heard in the trailer for the film Moneyball and in the film itself.
