Thoix

Thoix ( Picard: Toé ) is a northern French village with 135 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Conty, in the canton Conty.

Geography

The community at the department border Oise ( with the isolated Ferme du Campreux ) is about 8 km southwest of Conty at the department road D100 and the upper reaches of the creek parquets, a small tributary of the Évoissons that drain on the Selle in the Somme. The municipal area extends south to the road department D8.

History

Thoix is mentioned in 1140 as Teoletum. The rule was entitled to a margraviate. The Admiral de Bonnivet, favorite of Francis I. she held.

  • This converted 19th century castle from the 16th century with two square towers flank.

  • A large pigeon house on the homestead opposite the castle.
  • Monument to a dogfight in June 1940, between Thoix and Brassy.
