Thom Noble

Thom Noble ( MAY 1935) is a British editor who won both an Academy Award for Best Editing and an Eddie, the Film Award of the American Cinema Editors (ACE).

Life

Noble began his career as an editor in the film industry in 1964 with the film Seduce to be learned ( Rattle of a Simple Man ) and previously served on the production of over fifty films.

At the Academy Awards in 1986 he won the Academy Award for Best Editing for The Witness (1985 ) by Peter Weir, starring Harrison Ford, Kelly McGillis and Danny Glover in the lead roles. At the same time he received for the Eddie the American Cinema Editors (ACE ) and was also nominated for the British Academy Film Award for Best Editing.

In 1992 he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Editing for Thelma & Louise ( 1991) by Ridley Scott starring Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis and Harvey Keitel. For the cut in this film, he award was also nominated again for the BAFTA film.

He is currently working on the pre-production of Miracle Underground, directed by Armand Mastroianni with the main actors Eric Roberts, Nia Peeples and Adrian Paul. The film about the mining accident in San José should have 2012 movie premiere.
