Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke ( born October 7, 1968 in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England; actually Thomas Edward Yorke ) is a British singer and artist who is best known as the lead singer of the rock group Radiohead.
Life
Yorke was orderly in a mental hospital, and has studied at the University of Exeter art, philosophy and English. In his time as a student he met his current girlfriend, with whom he has two children and currently lives in Oxford. Since its birth Yorke's left eye is paralyzed. Between the first and the age of six he had to be operated on five times on the eye, with the last operation went wrong.
Artistic Career
He was known already at the age of ten years a member of a band and was a singer who in 1986 founded ( under the name On a Friday then) band Radiohead and has also collaborated with other artists, including international artists such as Björk, DJ Shadow, PJ Harvey, UNKLE and the German electronic artists Modeselektor.
Yorke is also working politically. He is a member of several organizations such as Make Poverty History, Make Trade Fair and The Big Ask.
After the release of the new Radiohead album was postponed to 2007, Yorke set out to finish the solo album The Eraser in 2006. The Eraser was produced by Radiohead producer Nigel Goodrich companion and under the label XL Recordings. On The Eraser both all the pieces of Yorke themselves are written as well - was even recorded - except for a few passages.
On 21 August 2006, the first single released from his album The Eraser with the title Harrowdown Hill. On three different formats ( Maxi - CD, 7 " - 12 " vinyl ) distributed a total of three B-sides: The Drunkk Machine, Jetstream and the extended version of Harrowdown Hill.
In 2013 he published as part of the " supergroup " Atoms for Peace Album amok.
