Thomas Barlow (Kentucky)

Thomas Jefferson " Tom" Barlow III ( born August 7, 1940 in Washington DC) is an American politician. Between 1993 and 1995 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Tom Barlow attended to 1962 Haverford College in Pennsylvania. After that he worked as a banker and as a business entrepreneur. Between 1971 and 1982 he was an environmental consultant to the Natural Resources Defense Council. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. In 1986 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress yet.

In the congressional elections of 1992 Barlow but was then elected in the first district of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Carroll Hubbard on January 3, 1993. But as he said Republicans Ed Whitfield succumbed already at the next elections in 1994, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1995. In the years 1998 and 2002 he applied unsuccessfully each for a return to Congress.
