Thomas Bopp

Thomas J. Bopp (* 1949 in Denver, Colorado) is an American amateur astronomer.

After high school graduation in 1967 and several years of military service in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines and in Tucson Bopp studied economics at Youngstown State University. Since 1980 he works as a manager in the near Phoenix. He is married and has one daughter.

On July 23, 1995 Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp independently discovered the comet Hale- Bopp.
