Thomas F. Conway

Thomas Franklin Conway ( born May 4, 1862 in Chesterfield, Essex County, New York, † 1946) was an American lawyer and politician (Democratic Party). He was the son of John Conway and Mary ( Collins) Conway.

Career

Thomas Franklin Conway studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1885. Then he moved in 1890 to Plattsburgh (New York). He attended the Democratic National Conventions of 1896, 1904, 1912, 1916, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1940 and 1944 as a delegate. In the years 1898 and 1900 he was a candidate for the office of New York State Attorney General, but both times was defeated by Republican John C. Davies. Conway was 1911-1912 Vice- governor of New York. Then he lost the 1916 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate against William F. McCombs.
