Thomas Gerstner

Thomas Gerstner ( born November 6, 1966 in Worms ) is a former German football player at the position of midfielder and was until April 2011 Trainer of Kickers Offenbach.

Playing career

Gerstner played predominantly in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 1989/90 season he played for FC 08 Homburg in the 1st Bundesliga in which he on August 22, 1989 against FC St. Pauli in the 88th minute the deficit to 1-1 draw his only Erstligator shot. It was followed by three years in the second division VfB Oldenburg, with him almost again the promotion to the 1991/92 season in the premier league. In 1987 Gerstner part with the Bundeswehr 's team at the Military World Championship in Italy and finished second.

Trainer time

Towards the end of his playing time, he was the 1998/99 second division FC Carl Zeiss Jena active as player-coach after his playing career he coached from 1 October 2002 to 30 June 2003 the SV Straelen.
