Thomas Gomez

Thomas Gomez ( * July 10, 1905 in New York City, New York, USA, † June 18, 1971 in Santa Monica, California, USA, actually: Sabino Tomas Gomez) was an American film and theater actor.

Life

Gomez, Americans with Spanish roots, joined after graduating high school in 1923, with the help of a scholarship, that theater group in which the two had, later also nominated for Oscars actor Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne co-founded. But soon he also independent theater roles on Broadway was, and therefore celebrated in October 1925 with the theater production of Hamlet made ​​his debut as a theater actor.

Gomez acting career focused until the early 1940s solely upon the stage, so it was not until 1941 in the crime film was also the first time the voice of terror before the camera. Gomez ' sustainably successful film was probably the 1947 film produced Ride on the Pink Horse ( Ride the Pink Horse ), for which he was nominated for the 1948 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
