Thomas Happe

Thomas Happe ( born March 25, 1958 in Dortmund ) is a former German handball player who in 1984 won the Olympic silver medal.

The 1.89 m wide left winger was one of the best defensive players of his time. He began his career at OSC Dortmund and later played at TUSEM food. Usually Jochen Fraatz played the left wing, so Happe took only in defense; Fraatz fell off once, took him Happe also in attack. Happe won with TUSEM 1986, 1987 and 1989, the German Cup in 1988 lost in the final of Euro Food Champions 'Cup, in 1989, the team won the European Cup Winners' Cup.

Thomas Happe played in a total of 56 international matches in the German national team. He scored 16 goals. On January 13, 1981, he has in Offenburg in the game against Romania his international debut. Thomas Happe is the son of Olympic swimming champion Ursula Happe. He started out as swimmers, but changed the sport because he lacked his mother's talent.
