Thomas Jones (American football)

Thomas Jones ( born August 19, 1978 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia) is an American professional American football player in the National Football League ( NFL).

He plays as a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he is under contract since 2010. Jones, who played at the University of Virginia college football, was seventh draft pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, selected by the Arizona Cardinals. He was later sold to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for wide receiver Marquise Walker and commissioned in 2004 as a free agent by the Chicago Bears under contract. From 2007-2009 he played for the New York Jets. Here he had the most successful part of his career. He was first elected for the 2008 season as a starter in the Pro Bowl after he led the American Football Conference in 1312 with erlaufenen yards.
