Thomas Koch (ice hockey)

Thomas Koch ( born August 17, 1983 in Klagenfurt) is an Austrian ice hockey player. Since 2011 he plays in his parent club EC KAC in the Austrian Hockey League. Koch also completed two seasons for Luleå HF in the Swedish Elitserien.

Career

Cook gave the age of 16 his debut in the season 1999/ 2000 at the EC KAC in the highest Austrian league. He played this season for the Telekom team in the National League. He went through all the junior national team in Austria and was in the 2003/04 season the most successful Austrian scorer.

In 2004 he moved to Sweden to Luleå HF in the Elitserien. After the NHL went on strike in their 2004/05 season, the team with stars from the NHL had been reinforced. Among them were Tomas Holmström, Mikael Renberg and Justin Williams.

After two years he returned to Sweden in 2006/07 season back to Austria and joined the EC Red Bull Salzburg, with whom he was Austrian champion. After winning the title in 2011, he signed a three year contract with the EC KAC.
