Thomas M. Woodruff

Thomas M. Woodruff ( May 3, 1804 in New Jersey; † March 28, 1855 in New York City ) was an American politician. From 1845 to 1847 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas M. Woodruff was born in the early 19th century in New Jersey. Politically, he was a member of the American Party. In the congressional elections of 1844 he was in the fifth electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Moses G. Leonard on March 4, 1845. He retired after March 3, 1847 from the Congress. During his time as a congressman of the Mexican -American War broke out. After the end of his tenure, he worked as a carpenter and later in New York City in the furniture business operates. He died there on March 28, 1855, was then buried in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Newark (New Jersey).
