Thomas Mitscherlich

Thomas Mitscherlich ( born December 11, 1942 in Heidelberg, † 18 March 1998 in Hamburg ) was a German film director, screenwriter and writer.

Biography

Mitscherlich was born in 1942 as son of Alexander Mitscherlich and his second wife Georgia Wiedemann in Heidelberg.

Since the early 1970s Mitscherlich worked as an independent film director and screenwriter. His oeuvre consists of documentary, socially engaged and political films. He was one of the leaders of the "Bremer Institute Film Television ", which produced up by 1996, Mitscherlich's famous and last realized documentary travels.

Mitscherlich died in 1998 at the age of 55 years in Oberstein (Allgäu ) of a heart attack.
