Thomas Pernes

Thomas Pernes ( born February 25, 1956 in Vienna) is an Austrian composer and performance artist.

Pernes studied piano with Bruno Seidlhofer and composition with Roman hood -Ramati. The world premiere of String Quartet No. 1 in 1976 at the Vienna Konzerthaus marks the beginning of his career in contemporary music. In the coming years, performances and orders from different operators and institutions will follow. In the early 1980s began Thomas Pernes to expand the field of classical avant-garde, by integrating elements of folk music and jazz in his works, as he used also electronics to extend the compositional possibilities.

In the 1990s, the development of its own, called a sound theater musical theater form which has as a characteristic rather than an action sequence, the representation of human states, feelings, associations in one predetermined by the music drama followed.
