Thomas Rathgeber
Thomas Rathgeber ( born April 30, 1985 in Kempten ( Allgäu) ) is a German football player. The striker stands since 2013 at the 1 FC Saarbrücken under contract.
Career
Rathgeber began his career at SV Holy Cross, from where he moved to the youth department of the SSV Ulm 1846. In 2004 he went to FC Kempten with the he rose in the season 2004/ 05 of the national league in the Bavarian League, including Rathgeber was able to contribute 13 goals. In the first half of Bayern league season he scored nine goals in 18 games and was courted by virtue of those benefits, among others, FC Bayern Munich, Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Bochum. He opted for the VfL Bochum since Uwe Wegmann, his coach in Kempten, nor contacts of own players time to VfL had. During the winter break of 2005/ 06 in exchange for the then second division was perfect.
In the second half Rathgeber came to six inserts in the second Bundesliga and rose with VfL on in the 1st Bundesliga. Here, however, he was only a ten minute short action against Alemannia Aachen and was loaned out during the winter break of the season 2006/ 07 for half a year to the second division club SpVgg Unterhaching. For Unterhaching he scored against FC Carl Zeiss Jena his first goal in professional football.
After the descent of SpVgg in the Football Regional VfL Bochum lent him again for a season to Unterhaching. Rathgeber scored in the 2007/ 08 Regional League season seven goals, and together with Robert Lechleiter one of the best duos in the league. After qualifying for the Second Division Rathgeber was in July 2008 a firm commitment from the SpVgg Unterhaching. On 31 March 2009, he scored in the match against Kickers Emden a hat-trick (3rd, 15th and 30th minute). Unterhaching won the game 4-0. In the course of the 2009/10 season Rathgeber scored ten goals, including nine in the second half. This was so far his most successful season after goals in professional football.
In the summer of 2010 Thomas Rathgeber moved to league rivals Kickers Offenbach, for which he made his debut on July 23, 2010 under coach Wolfgang Wolf; on the opening day of the 2010/11 season he came off the bench in the match against 1 FC Saarbrücken in the 61st minute for Mirnes Mešić. Overall, he completed his first season for the Kickers 30 games in the Third Division, scoring eight goals before him a cartilage damage was found in the knee in April 2011. Then he fell over ten months long and was only in the 2-0 away defeat against his former club SpVgg Unterhaching 7 March 2012 his comeback.
On June 13, 2013 Rathgeber signed a two year contract with the third division 1 FC Saarbrücken.
