Thomas Rundqvist

Thomas Rundqvist ( born May 4, 1960 in Vimmerby ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and now sporting director at Färjestad BK.

Career

Rundqvist his career began in 1978 at Färjestad BK in Sweden. During his successful time there until 1993, he was national in 494 games on the ice (173 Tore/441 points) and won the Swedish championship three times ( 1981, 1986 and 1988). NHL Entry Draft 1983, he was selected in the 10th round to 198 instead of the Montreal Canadiens. He then went for a season in the NHL, it brought there but only two inserts. In 1991 he was awarded the Guldpucken the Elitserien.

Internationally, he participated with the Swedish national ice hockey team at eight World Ice Hockey Championships and won two gold and three silver medals. Three times he took the " Tre Kronor " participate in the Olympics and won here two bronze medals (1984 and 1988). When he ended his international career he had made it to 267 international appearances.

His playing career, he finished in the VEU Feldkirch in Austria, with whom he there the champion ( 1993-1998 ) and in 1998 the European Hockey League won in each of his five years.

In 2007 he was honored with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
