Thomas Slaney
Thomas Slaney (* 1852, † 1935) was an English football coach and secretary.
Prior to his position as Stoke City manager Slaney taught until 1874 as a teacher at Saltley collage. In addition to the duties as manager and secretary, he played as captain in the team. 1883 followed the resignation in favor of a career as a referee which he began in 1885. He supported, among others, the establishment of the Staffordshire Football Association.
