Thomas Street

Thomas Street (also Streete; * 1621, † 1689) was an English astronomer.

Life

Thomas Street 's exact survival data are obviously not clear. According to John Aubrey, he is supposed to be born on March 5, 1621 in the Scottish Castle Lyons and died on August 17, 1689 in Canon Row, Westminster. He was Elias Ashmoles clerk in the Excise Office.

Based on the Kepler motion of the planets around the Sun Street computed tables of the planets, which he published together with theoretical reflections on the movement of the stars in several works.

The lunar crater Street is named after him.
