Thomas Tredgold

Thomas Tredgold ( born August 22, 1788 in Brandon, County Durham, † January 28, 1829 ) was an English engineer.

Life

After his schooling at a village school he did an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker in Durham. He remained there for six years and studied mathematics, architecture and perspective. After the end of his education in 1808 he went to Scotland, where he worked as a carpenter and as a carpenter wandering. A few years later he moved to London, where he worked with an architect and his engineering works wrote.
