Thomas Wessinghage

Wessinghage Thomas ( born February 22, 1952 in Hagen ) is a former German track and field athlete. In 1980 he switched to the still valid German record over 1500 meters ( 3:31,58 min) and was founded in 1982 in Athens, European champion in the 5000 meters.

His career as a middle and long distance runners stretched over 20 years. In 1981 he was Athlete of the Year, 1985, he was awarded the Rudolf Harbig Memorial Award.

Life

Wessinghage completed his medical degree in 1977 from the state exam. From 1996 to 2002 he was medical director and chief physician at the rehabilitation clinic Saar loop at Mettlach -Orscholz; from 2002 he was Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Clinic Damp, since 2008 he is the Medical Director of three clinics of the Medical Park AG Bad Wiessee.
