Thomas Ziegler (ice hockey)
Thomas Ziegler ( born June 9, 1978 in Zurich ) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey player who played 1997-2012, among others, for the ZSC Lions and SC Bern in the National League A. He also came to five NHL appearances for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Career
Thomas Ziegler began his career as a hockey player with the GCK Lions, for which he was active in the National League B from 1995 to 1998. In the 1997/98 season he also played ten games for the ZSC Lions in the National League A in which he was point - and goalless. In the summer of 1998, the attacker moved to HC Ambri -Piotta, with whom he won the 1998 and 1999 twice in a row the IIHF Continental Cup and 1999 Swiss vice champion. He was then in the ninth round as a total 263 players selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he ran aground 01 five times in the 2000 season / in the National Hockey League. However, the majority of the season he spent at their farm team, the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Before the season 2001/ 02 Ziegler returned to his homeland where he plays for SC Bern. With the Bernese the winger was founded in 2004 for the first time in his career Swiss champion. From the 2010/11 season he played again at the ZSC Lions and won with this 2012 another Swiss Champion title before he finished his career.
Internationally
For Switzerland, Ziegler attended the World Youth Championship in 1998, and the A World Championships in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 in part. Furthermore, Ziegler was in the squad of Switzerland at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
