History
Thompson Falls is named after the British- Canadian explorer, geographer, and fur trader David Thompson. With the connection to the railway network in 1881, the city began to develop. Two years later the nearby Coeur d' Alene was captured by the gold rush, the city grew to the men who went over the Murray Trail to the mines accommodate. 1910 Thompson Falls was officially established.
