Thongchai McIntyre

Thongchai McIntyre ( Thai: ธง ไชย แม ค อิน ไต ย์; born December 8, 1958 in Bangkok as Albert Thongchai McIntyre ) is a Thai singer and actor. He is also known as Bird Thongchai, Bird McIntyre, Pi Bird ( elder brother Bird) or simply Bird and with more than 20 million albums sold the most successful Thai singer. His music is attributed to the Thaipop and the Luk Thung.

Biography

Thongchai McIntyre was born in 1958 in Bangkok, the son of James and Udom McIntyre. He grew up in a family with many musicians. His father died when Thongchai was still a child. Despite his musical roots Thongchai began his career as a bank clerk. One day he learned in the course of its activities the famous Thai TV producer Kai Varayuth know who saw a talent as an entertainer in him. And so he got his first role in a Thai television series, in which he was able to meet the set as a talent in him hopes. Other roles followed, one of which is his best-known of the Captain Kobori in Koo Kam, a tragic love story between a Japanese soldier (played by Thongchai ) and a Thai woman during the Second World War. He played this role again in the 1996 film adaptation of the series titled Sunset at Chaophraya.

The peak of his music career, he peaked in the early 90s. His best-known titles are Duay Rak Lae Pook Pan, Koo Gud, Sabai Sabai Jai Jing Jing and Kob. The Western world in the mid- 90s attention to him when he became the first Thai artist, who was awarded an International MTV Award.
