Thorsten Burkhardt

Thorsten Burkhardt (born 21 May 1981 in Bonn ) is a German football midfielder.

Career

In youth Burkhardt played at small clubs in North Rhine -Westphalia. In 1999, he joined the second team of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, for whom he played until 2002 in the Oberliga and Regionalliga.

In the 2001 /02 season he was temporarily in the squad for the first team of Leverkusen, but was not used. Leverkusen this season reached the finals of the Champions League and the DFB Cup and became German Vice Champion. Officially Burkhardt was in the 2001/ 02 season, thus Champions League Vice winner, DFB Cup German Vice Champion and runner-up.

In 2002 he moved on loan to second division SpVgg Greuther Fürth, a year later the Fürth committed him officially. In 76 games for the Fürth he scored six goals.

In 2005 he moved to second division side SV Wacker Burghausen, with which he played the next two years in the second division in 2007 and relegated. For the season 2007/ 08 he moved back to Greuther Fürth. On Matchday he was against Aachen (2-0 ) by the way, the first second-division player of the season, which twice hit the post with a shot on goal. On March 1, 2009 Thorsten Burkhardt celebrated an anniversary. He played his 100th competitive match in a row. On 24 April 2009 Thorsten Burkhardt played his 200th game in the 2nd Bundesliga.

On 2 June 2009 Alemannia Aachen undertook the transfer fee Burkhardt from the season 2009/10 for three years. After a serious ankle injury in April 2010 with Syndesmoseriss and subsequent surgery, he missed the entire first half of the season 2010/11. For the season 2011/12, Thorsten Burkhardt for third division Wehen, but there was also an injury only nine league operations. After he went to the start of the following season for the Wiesbaden Hesse reserve in the league, Burkhardt moved in January 2013 to Wacker Burghausen.
