Three Principles of the People

The Three Principles of the People (Chinese三民主义, Pinyin sān mín zhǔyì, W.-G. san min chu -i) were formulated by the founder of the Republic of China, Sun Yat-sen in 1912.

He propagated these principles for the first time in a speech which he delivered on June 16, 1924 at the opening ceremony of the Whampoa Military Academy. Part of the text was the Kuomintang as a template for a party song before it, the national anthem of the Republic of China.
