Thuluth

The thuluth font (Persian: ثلت sol; Arab ثلث, DMG ṯuluṯ, third ', Turkish Sülüs ) belongs to Ibn Muqlas canon of six cursive writing styles (al- aqlam as- Sitta ) of the Arabic calligraphy. It is characterized by special flexibility of the letters and is often found as an ornamental font on mosques and other buildings.

Particularly popular was the thuluth in the Ottoman Empire.
