Thung Song District

Amphoe Thung Song ( Thai: อำเภอ ทุ่งสง ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Thung Song is located in the southwest of the province. Neighbouring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Bang the Khan, Thung Yai, Na Bon, Chang Klang, Lan Saka, Ron Phibun, Chulabhorn and Cha- uat of Nakhon Si Thammarat and Amphoe Huai Yot and Ratsada Trang province.

Traffic

  • Network of the SRT ( State Railway of Thailand): In Amphoe Thung Song which is located on the south line from Bangkok to ngai Kolok Su- ( on the eastern border crossing to Malaysia) " Thung Song Jn. " ( Thung Song Junction, Thung Song turnoff ). The seldom -used side track that branches off here via Trang up after Kantang in Amphoe Kantang ( Trang province ) directly at the mouth of Khlong Trang in the Andaman Sea.

Attractions

In Amphoe Thung Song are several national parks:

  • The National Park Namtok Yong ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ น้ำตก โยง ) with about twelve waterfalls and spectacular lookouts, such as the 1350 m high Yod Khao Men ( ยอด เขา เหม น ).
  • The National Park Khao Nan ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ เขา นั น ) is 436 km ² in size, with 1438 meters of Khao Nan Yai is the highest mountain in the park. Even here there are numerous waterfalls and caves.

Management

Amphoe Thung Song in 13 communes ( tambon) divided, which in turn in 125 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Thung Song itself has a city - state ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the whole Tambon Pak Phraek.
