Thung Tako District
Amphoe Thung Tako ( Thai: อำเภอ ทุ่งตะโก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in Chumphon province in the southern region of Thailand.
Geography
Amphoe Thung Tako is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Amphoe Lang Suan and Amphoe Sawi Chumphon province. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand.
History
Thung Tako was born on September 6, 1976 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Thung Takhrai, Tako and Pak Tako were separated from Amphoe Sawi. On 19 July 1991 Thung Tako was upgraded to a full Amphoe.
Management
Amphoe Thung Tako consists of four sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 35 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Pak Tako ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปาก ตะโก ) consists of the whole Tambon Pak Tako,
- Takhrai Thung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง ตะ ไค ร ) consists of the whole Tambon Thung Takhrai.
There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
