TI-85

The TI -85 is a graphical calculator that was published in 1992 by Texas Instruments. It was the first computer with a Link port, with this it is possible to exchange data between two computers or to a PC.

The TI -85 has a BASIC-like programming language that supports variables as well as strings. With the TI -85 for the first time it was possible thanks to a loophole on a calculator assembly programs execute. Purpose of hobby programmers so-called shells (eg, OS -85, ZShell ) were developed that allowed the execution of self-programmed assembly language programs. This was also interesting in that with the Zilog Z80 a then extremely widespread microprocessor was used for the already existed a number of documentaries and collections of programs in assembly language.

TI -85 was replaced by the successor of the TI- 86, which has advantages such as greater storage capacity.
