Tia Fuller

Tia Fuller ( born March 27, 1976 in Aurora, Colorado) is an American jazz musician ( alto and soprano saxophone, flute) and arranger.

Life and work

Fuller grew up in a musical family; her parents, Fred and Elthopia Fuller are jazz musicians. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1998 at Spelman College in Atlanta, then in 2000 the Master in Jazz Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder. 2009/10 she was a member of the female backing band at the I Am ... Tour, the R & B singer Beyoncé Knowles, in their DVD Me, Myself and I it can be seen as a soloist. Under his own name put them so far (2013 ) three albums including among Mack Avenue Records with her quartet. They also worked with Ralph Peterson, TS Monk, Jon Faddis, Rufus Reid, Sean Jones, Nancy Wilson, Wycliffe Gordon and starring Esperanza Spalding as musical director of her formation Radio Music Society, with which they Leverkusen in Germany, inter alia, to the jazz days occurred.
